Why Permata Studies

Instruction built around the experience participants already bring, not around the assumption that they are starting from zero.

Faculty with Practice Experience

Every course is led by a faculty member with direct professional experience in the subject taught, not only in the classroom presentation of it.

Curriculum Built for This Stage

The material addresses the specific decisions that arise in one's forties, fifties, and sixties: transition planning, capital stewardship, EPF decisions, and generational wealth conversations.

Measured, Honest Teaching

No overclaiming. Our prospectus describes what each programme covers, how long it runs, and what participants can reasonably expect to take away.

Rooted in the Malaysian Context

Our investing programme draws on instruments available in Malaysia: Bursa-listed products, local unit trust structures, EPF voluntary contributions, and ASB/ASN options.

Small Cohorts

Enrolment in each programme is kept small so that discussion is possible and questions from participants can be taken seriously in the time available.

Written Materials Included

Each programme provides printed course notes and a reading list. Evening lecture participants receive a written summary before the session.

Questions We Are Often Asked

Who are these programmes intended for?
Adults in their forties, fifties, and sixties — whether still in employment, approaching a career change, or already retired. Participants generally arrive with some familiarity with financial concepts through professional life or personal experience, but no formal finance background is assumed or required.
Where are sessions held?
At our premises at 95, Jalan Putra, 50350 Kuala Lumpur. The building is accessible by public transport. Parking is available nearby. All three programmes — including the Evening Lecture — are held in-person at this address.
What happens if I miss a session?
For the Substantive Investing Programme and the Late-Career Planning Course, notes for missed sessions are provided. However, these programmes are structured to build on each prior session, and regular attendance is strongly advised. We do not currently offer recorded alternatives.
Are certificates issued upon completion?
A certificate of attendance is issued to participants who complete the Substantive Investing Programme and the Late-Career Planning Course. These are records of participation, not professional qualifications. Evening Lecture attendees receive a written summary but no certificate.
What is the refund or deferral policy?
We accept requests to defer enrolment to the next intake if received at least fourteen days before the programme begins. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis for circumstances arising after that point. Please contact us directly to discuss your situation.
How do I pay the programme fee?
Payment details are provided after your enquiry has been processed. We accept bank transfer and selected online payment methods in Malaysian Ringgit. Full payment is due before the first session.
Is the Evening Lecture suitable for someone with no prior financial knowledge?
Yes. The Evening Lecture is open to the public and is designed to be understood without specialist background. The written summary sent in advance helps participants follow the discussion. It is also a useful way to assess whether the longer programmes would suit you.
